Description

Fresh cooked dungenous crab.

Fresh cooked Dungeness crab.

Chances are if you’ve eaten crab anywhere in the West, it was a Dungeness crab. These are the most common crabs in the Western Pacific and are among the tastiest, too.

Dungeness is recognized for its delicate, sweet nutty flavor.

Very simply boiled or steamed and served with melted butter. Dungeness meat is also the number 1 choice for traditional northwest style crab cakes.

The Dungeness Crab or Cancer magister gets its common name from the town of Dungeness, Washington, now called Old Town Dungeness, where the first commercial harvesting of the crab was done.
